A further speeding operation has taken place on Kirton Lane in Thorne. 

The speed limit for this road is 40mph - we are aware that vehicles do exceed this limit - on this occasion, 45 vehicles were monitored to which 4 were contravening the speed limit, these drivers were spoken to by our officers at the time of when the offence was committed and given appropriate advice.

Following feedback from previous SYP Alerts and a member of the community who attended the most recent Thorne and Moorends community engagement meeting this location has been added to our areas of concern for speeding vehicles and we will be conducting regular speeding operations on this road. 

When driving, a few miles per hour can mean the difference between life and death. The faster someone drives, the less time they have to stop if something unexpected happens.

These speeding operations will continue, and we will continue to publish the results.
