This week, 19th – 25th May is Dementia Action week. 

1 in 3 people born in the UK will be diagnosed with dementia in their lifetime, and 1.4 million people are expected to be living with dementia by 2040. Below is the link for the Alzheimer’s Society website where support and advice can be found on both diagnosis and also for those living with/have caring responsibilities for those living with dementia.

SYP has it’s own Dementia Support Group which can be found through the intranet. The group currently meet on a quarterly basis and often have attending guest speakers from a variety of dementia focused organisations to present.
