ANTI- SOCIAL BEHAVIOUR 

During this period demand in both Police and Fire services increases due to Anti-Social Behaviour and accidents and injuries from using fireworks inappropriately.

  • Gathering in large groups or gangs

  • Drinking alcohol in a public place

  • Making excessive noise

  • Disturbing someone/community

  • Damaging someone’s property

    FIREWORKS

    It is an offence for anyone to throw a firework in a public place

  • It is an offence for any person under 18 to possess an adult firework in a public place.

  • Using or buying fireworks illegally can result in a £5,000 fine or imprisonment for up to 6 months.

  • Adults must not set off fireworks between 11pm and 7am, except for:

  • Bonfire Night, when the cut off is midnight. We would encourage always attending an organized event

  • New Year’s Eve, Diwali and Chinese New Year, when the cut off is 1am

  •  

           ARSON AND ANTI- SOCIAL FIRES

           What is arson?

           Arson is the criminal act of deliberately setting fire to property.

             NOT a victimless crime

             Hoax Calls Kill!
             Hoax Calls are a crime!

             Real emergencies need help straight away – 
             not late because of a hoax call

             Only call 999 in a real emergency

             Hoax calls can divert services from where they are needed the most.
