Following concerns raised from members of the Thorne community we have undertaken further speeding operations in area of high concern.

On Lock Lane in Thorne, five drivers were dealt with for contravening the 20mph speed limit. We are aware that this route is currently being used as a shortcut for most due to the on-going roadworks on Fieldside, however, please remember to stick to the speed limit which is 20mph.

On Ellison Street in Thorne, six drivers were spoken to and advised with regards their speed – this road also has a 20mph speed limit.

When driving, a few miles per hour can mean the difference between life and death. The faster someone drives, the less time they have to stop if something unexpected happens.

These speeding operations will continue, and we will continue to publish the results.
