Officers from your local Doncaster East neighbourhood policing team have today formed part of the policing operation at the St Leger festival at Doncaster racecourse. As well as keeping an eye on the safety of the many thousands of spectators that attend the annual event our officers were also advising those on road safety due to the high number of pedestrians that were attending the racecourse.

Mid afternoon - the van below caught the eye of our offices due to the speed that it was travelling at as it weaved in and out of busy traffic along Bawtry road towards Bessacarr - undertaking and overtaking in the process…

The vehicle was brought to a stop and the driver spoken to - following a couple of checks it transpires that the male driving the van had no insurance - the male was reported on summons for the offence of driving without insurance on a public road.
