Stolen vehicle recovered

Yesterday officers were on patrol in and around the area of Moorends when an eagle eyed PCSO spotted the Jaguar below which had been left in a secluded spot near to a local convenience store.

The vehicle was recovered and will be forensically examined before being returned to its owner.

We are continuing to see an increase in vehicle thefts, and we are working hard to find those responsible who commit these criminal acts and bring them to justice but would always remind people to follow some simple tips to help protect their vehicles:

- Lock your vehicle – even when filling up, parked on your drive, or if you are near it

- Keep the keys safe, out of view when at home, and away from your front door

- Lock your vehicle – even when filling up, parked on your drive, or if you are near it

- Park responsibly by avoiding parking in dark and secluded areas

- Fit good in-car security locks to help prevent your vehicle being driven away even if a thief gains entry

- If there is an emergency or crime in progress, always call 999
