Last night during patrols of the area, Officers noticed a Toyota Corolla parked In the corner of Tesco’s car park in Edenthorpe. 

We took the time to speak with the male sat in the drivers seat, who claimed to be waiting for his partner who was just doing a bit of shopping. 

The male had the keys but was not on the Insurance policy, so we were keen to make sure his story was accurate.

His partner arrived some 30 minutes later by taxi, even though Tesco was only 100 yards away, and a check of the CCTV showed the male had in fact driven the vehicle into the carpark.

The vehicle was seized and the driver was dealt with for the relevant driving offences.

We continued our patrols and then stopped a vehicle on Beech Road, Armthorpe, which had a smell of cannabis emanating from within. The driver was asked to undergo a drugs test for cannabis which he failed. He was arrested and taken to Doncaster custody for further tests and a sleep, to let the effects of drugs wear off. 

The message is simple – do not drink or drug drive.

Another officer then came across a male on Rands Lane, Armthorpe who walked past the Police car whilst smoking a ‘joint’. The male was detained for a search and was found to have a further two small bags of cannabis. The drugs were seized and the male was dealt with for the offence of possessing a Class C Drug.
