Last night officers from your local neighbourhood policing team attended the Thorne retail park following a theft of cleaning products from the B&M store.

The offender thought she could have a clean getaway with the smelly loot but as she left the store she then assaulted a member of staff - she made her exit but officers were hot on her toes - I guess they couldn't resist the allure of that 'eau de misdemeanour'.

The female was caught red-handed, or should I say 'clean-handed' after making her sparkling escape into the centre of Thorne.

The female was detained and transported to Doncaster custody suite where she was interviewed, charged and remanded for Monday morning court.
