NEWS: Two charged following Stocksbridge incidents


 

Two men have been charged following a series of violent incidents in the Stocksbridge area of Sheffield in recent weeks.

Joseph Sykes, aged 26, of Lilac Avenue, has been charged with ten offences including affray, possession of an offensive weapon, threats of violence towards police officers and for breaching a protection from harassment order.

Sykes was arrested on Tuesday 26 September after we received reports on Sunday of a man slashing tyres on Askew Court.

He appeared before Sheffield Magistrates Court on Wednesday 27 September charged with the ten offences and was remanded in custody ahead of his next appearance at Sheffield Magistrates Court on 18 October 2023.

Bradley Hollis, age 33, of Laburnum Grove, has been charged with threatening to damage / destroy property. Hollis was arrested following an incident on Monday 25 September in which we received reports of a man brandishing a large knife on Pot House Lane.

Hollis also appeared before Sheffield Magistrates Court on Wednesday 27 September charged with the offence and has been bailed with conditions ahead of his next appearance at Sheffield Crown Court on 19 February 2024.
